In 1986, Mrs. Nusrat Patel opened the first Patel Optics on the main road in Beau-Bassin — and quickly became a fixture for the neighbourhood she served. She is, to this day, the CEO of the family business.
From the outset she built the practice on two pillars: the quality of the product, and the care behind it. Our opticians and optometrists have kept to both ever since.
A new generation, the same eye.
Over the last decade, the founder's sons — Naumaan and Ijaz Patel — joined the team as healthcare professionals in their own right, with Ijaz now directing the company under his mother's stewardship.
With an avant-garde spirit, the new generation opened in Rose Hill, then Triolet in the north — and kept going, until Patel Optics reached 8 branches across the island. Same family. Same eye for quality. A wider reach.
